Just us for our first-ever FADS clothing swap! Bring those clothes from your closet that you don’t want anymore and trade them with the curated pieces from other members (which knowing y'all, are sure to be 🔥🔥🔥). And not to worry - even if you don't find all the pieces you want, any left-over clothes will be donated to a charity afterward! Can't wait to see y'all there!

Come join us to paint tote bags! Feel free to bring any materials of your own or use a tote bag to upcycle and customize whatever way you want! (Plus, you'll get to hang out and chill with our amazing members 😉)

In this week's meeting, we'll be teaching about how to find your personal color and the right way to take your measurements when sizing clothes. Cohort members are especially encouraged to come to this week's meeting to learn with us! You'll be able to take your model's measurements in preparation for your garment, and also get help choosing a flattering color palette!

This week, we're switching it up with a Halloween bowling social! Instead of Cruess 208, we'll be meeting this Wednesday 10/25 from 7 - 8 PM in the Memorial Union Games Area, with tickets $8 per person. We invite you to the Leadership Giving Society Gala! The gala is an annual event that brings together UCD donors and the student achievements they help make possible. This year, the Leadership Giving Society is especially looking for artists to participate, so whether you're a fashion designer, model, painter, or anything in between, fill out this Google Form to RSVP by Saturday, October 7th!

Knot your way through a fun macrame workshop this Thursday! We'll provide some rope/string but please bring your own if you have any, as well as old shirts/other fabric to cut up!

Our next meeting will be a crossover with the photography club! Come hang out, model and take pictures while also getting free headshots/photographs!

This Thursday, make jewelry with FADS! Materials will be provided but we encourage people to bring their own supplies as well. We can't wait to see how crafty everyone is!

Moodboards are one of the main parts of research when designing in fashion. In this moodboard workshop, you will pick a fashion desginer's name out of a hat and attempt to find inspiration and build a moodboard descrbing the brand.

Halley has had experience in the fashion industry for many year and been through many roles from designing to modelling. She is currently working on FanimeCon and in the past has worked with American Apparel. Her talk will focus around mental health in the fashion industry and sharing her personal experiences.

This week's meeting we'll be using linoleum to stamp clothing, as well as painting directly on fabric! Bring clothes, bags, or other fabric you would like to be modified. We'll be using the winning design from our merch submission. Paints will be provided!

FADS is having a thrift trip! We'll be looking for clothes that we can print on with block stamps at a later meeting. Come hang out and practice shopping sustainably!

Dori is a fashion designer, entrepreneur, teacher, and mother, who has traveled the world designing for over 30 years. She has worn many hats in the fashion industry, from corporate environments to running her own label. Dori has studied fashion design and pattern-making at FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) and ESMOD (Paris, France). Her launch of 'Camp Fashionista,' a design school located in San Jose, CA, for both children and adults, allows her to share her passion and inspire the next generation of designers.

Come to our meeting this Thursday to help us make tote bags from retired UC Davis signage, no sewing experience needed! We'll provide the materials and the instructions.

Say hello to our first guest speaker this year! Haley Gihooly is an Apparel Development Manager at KUIU, a brand specializing in hunting gear and apparel. She will be offering her industry experience and advice at our general meeting this Thursday! Come hang out and learn what it's like to work in commercial fashion.

Practice or learn embriodery with us this Thursday! Bring your shirts, bags, masks, etc. to be embriodered along with any tools (needles/threads). We will provide scrap fabrics and spare supplies.
